Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance in several parts of the country on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, as part of ongoing network improvement works.
The utility firm said the scheduled interruptions will affect areas in Nairobi, Nyeri, Nandi, Kisumu and Migori counties during different hours of the day.
In a notice issued on Monday evening, Kenya Power said the maintenance exercise is aimed at improving service reliability and stabilizing electricity supply in the affected regions.
Areas Affected in Nairobi Region
In Nairobi Region, parts of Kiharu will experience power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Areas expected to be affected include Ngecha Road, Mitini Estate, BAA Architects and adjacent customers.
Another outage will affect sections of Chania Avenue and Jamhuri Estate within the same hours.
The interruption will impact parts of Ngong Road, Kibera Drive, Kabarnet Road, Chania Avenue, Kindaruma Road, Woodley Estate, Mugo Kibiru Estate, Moi Girls School, Toy Market, Joseph Kangethe Estate, Nairobi Water offices, Kenya Prison Staff Houses and nearby customers.
Mt. Kenya Region to Experience Day-Long Outage
In the Mt. Kenya Region, residents in Warazojet, Ndathi and Kimahuri areas will be without electricity from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The affected areas include Junction Villa, Snow View, Mapema, Kairi, Bagdad and surrounding customers.
North Rift Region
In Nandi County, the outage will affect Arwos and neighboring areas between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
Customers in Cheribisi, Arwos Center and St. Roberts Arwos are among those expected to experience the interruption.
Kisumu and Migori Counties Also Affected
In Kisumu County, parts of Kombewa will face a scheduled outage from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Areas listed include Kombewa Approved School, Bar Korwa, Omuya, Ratta and Opasi.
Meanwhile, in Migori County, electricity supply will be interrupted in Kehancha Town, Ntimaru and Taranganya areas from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
Affected locations include Kehancha Law Courts, Igena, Kobinto, Senta, Chinato, Ntimaru Kegonga, Matare and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power Apologizes for Inconvenience
Kenya Power apologized for the inconvenience caused and advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly during the maintenance period.
The company noted that the scheduled maintenance is necessary to facilitate network upgrades and improve power reliability across the regions.
