Kenya Power announces scheduled power interruptions in eight counties, 4th June

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance works that will affect customers in parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Nakuru, Kakamega, Kisii, Kiambu, Kilifi and Kwale counties on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

The utility company said the scheduled outages are necessary to facilitate network maintenance and upgrades aimed at improving power reliability and service delivery.

Customers in the affected areas are advised to make alternative arrangements as electricity supply will be interrupted for between seven and eight hours depending on location.

Nairobi County

In Nairobi, customers in parts of Donholm, Jacaranda and Soweto will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas affected include Salute Apartment, Umoja 2 SDA, Davana Hotel, Jacaranda Estate, Carmel Vale, Edenvale Schools, Donholm Phase 8, Greenspan Mall and Estate, parts of Nasra Estate, Sosion, Shujaa Mall, Patanisho Hospital, Soweto and surrounding customers.

A separate outage will affect parts of Karen during the same period. Areas set to be affected include Lang’ata South Road, Kenya School of Law, Ndalati Road, Bogaani Road, parts of Ndege Road, Siranga Road, Nzohe Road, Kumbe Road, Baobab Estate, JKUAT, Ndovu Road, parts of Kipevu Road, Fahari Close, Kasuku Close, Kwarara Road and adjacent customers.

Rift Valley Region

In Nakuru County, electricity will be interrupted in parts of Naivasha from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Gorge Farm, Flamingo, parts of KenGen Housing, Kongoni, Oloiden, Kinja Nurseries, Mundui, Hippo Point, Wileli, Rain Forest, Duro, Aquila, Ndabibi, Eburru Hills Farm, Evergreen Herbs, Evergreen Avocados, Gathondia, Moi Ndabi, Sero, Tangi Tatu Ng’ondi, Sagutiek, Maiella, Enasambulai and neighbouring customers.

Meanwhile, in Uasin Gishu County, customers in Oasis, Neema, Kimuri and Royalton will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Western and South Nyanza Regions

In Kakamega County, the outage will affect Malava and surrounding areas from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Customers in Samitsi, Malanga, Malava Market, Kampi Kwanza Market, Shamberere, West Kenya Sugar, KWS, Kambiri Market, Shanderema, Ileho and Inguvuli will be affected.

In Kisii County, two separate areas will experience interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The first outage will affect Kenyenya, Nyangweta SDA Secondary School, Etago Market, Nyansembe, Nyakeyo, Suguta, Moticho, Engou, Nyabera, Nyamaiya, Ekona, Mogenda, Ochodororo and Maroon.

The second outage will affect Kegati, Kiogoro, Riabamanyi, Matibo, Nyanguru, Nyaguta, Riangome Nene, Itumbe Tea, Matunwa, Itumbe Market, Kamel Park, Kiogoro Market and neighbouring customers.

Kiambu County

In Kiambu County, parts of Limuru Town, Auto Springs and Gitutha will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas listed include Limuru Town Shopping Centre, Karanjee, Kwambira, Kamirithu, Tharuini, Steph Joy Boys, Rwacumaria, Kamonoru, Ndiuni, Nyataragi, Thigio, Thigio Boroti, Gichungo and Kiriri.

Coast Region

In Kilifi County, customers in Mtangani and Mijikenda Residence areas will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas listed include parts of Malindi, Alaskan, Mtangani, Sunpark, Savannah, Raia, Majivuni, Kiddie Star, Mgurureni, Mijikenda Residence, Marafa, Wakala, Mambrui, Karibuni Villas, Last Beach, Angels Bay and Garashi.

In Kwale County, outages will affect Kinagoni and Vigurungani, as well as Kwale Town, Kinango and Tiribe, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Chigutu, Mdomo, Bang’a TTC, Ziwani, Golini, Madabara 1 and 2, Kinango, Tiribe, Ndavaya and surrounding customers.

Kenya Power has urged customers in the listed areas to treat all electricity lines as live during the maintenance period and to await official communication before reconnecting sensitive equipment once power is restored.
