KMTC announces 76 lecturer vacancies across eight health disciplines

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced 76 vacant lecturer positions across multiple health disciplines, inviting qualified professionals to apply before the June 30, 2026 deadline.

The recruitment drive targets experienced health professionals interested in joining Kenya’s largest medical training institution, which operates under the Ministry of Health and is responsible for training healthcare workers across the country.

Opportunities Across Eight Specialized Fields

According to the vacancy notice, the positions are classified under Lecturer II, KMTC Grade 8, and will be based at various KMTC campuses nationwide.

The available vacancies include:

  • Nursing – 30 positions
  • Community Health – 10 positions
  • Orthopaedic Trauma and Medicine – 8 positions
  • Mortuary Science – 8 positions
  • Emergency Medical Technician – 5 positions
  • Health Insurance – 5 positions
  • Medical Engineering – 5 positions
  • Orthopaedic Technology – 5 positions

KMTC said the recruitment seeks qualified, innovative and result-oriented professionals capable of supporting the institution’s teaching, research and healthcare training mandate.

Online Applications Only

Interested candidates are required to submit applications online through the KMTC recruitment portal.

The institution emphasized that hard-copy applications will not be accepted and advised applicants to carefully review the qualifications and requirements for each position before applying.

Applicants who are shortlisted for interviews will be required to present original academic certificates, professional certificates, transcripts and national identification documents for verification.

KMTC also warned that presenting forged academic or professional credentials constitutes a criminal offence and may result in legal action.

Deadline Set for June 30

The college has set June 30, 2026 as the deadline for receiving applications.

Officials encouraged eligible professionals in the health sector to take advantage of the opportunity as KMTC continues to expand its training capacity to meet the growing demand for healthcare workers in Kenya and the wider region.

The recruitment comes as KMTC continues to strengthen its role in training healthcare professionals amid increasing demand for skilled personnel in hospitals, clinics and community health programmes.

Founded in 1927, KMTC remains one of the largest medical training institutions in Africa, offering programmes in nursing, clinical medicine, public health, laboratory sciences and other health-related fields.

Successful candidates will join the institution’s teaching workforce and contribute to the training of future healthcare professionals serving Kenya’s health sector.
