The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened a fresh application window for degree programmes, giving eligible candidates from the 2022, 2023 and 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations another opportunity to secure university placement.
The latest application exercise is aimed at Kenyan citizens who attained the minimum university entry grade but were not previously placed into degree programmes through KUCCPS.
The placement agency urged eligible candidates to submit their applications through its online portal before the application period closes.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
According to KUCCPS, the application window is available to candidates who:
- Sat the KCSE examinations in 2022, 2023 or 2024.
- Attained a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus).
- Meet the subject requirements for their preferred degree programmes.
- Have not previously received a KUCCPS degree placement.
The agency noted that the opportunity is specifically designed for qualified students who missed earlier placement cycles despite meeting university entry requirements.
Exception for TTC, KMTC and KSL Students
While the exercise mainly targets applicants who have never been placed, KUCCPS has made an exception for candidates who were previously admitted through the placement service to:
- Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs)
- Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)
- Kenya School of Law (KSL)
These applicants are now eligible to apply for degree programmes under the new application window if they wish to pursue university studies.
Opportunity for Students Who Missed Earlier Placement
KUCCPS has encouraged all qualified candidates who did not apply during previous placement exercises to take advantage of the fresh application period.
The agency said the initiative seeks to ensure that eligible students are not locked out of university education simply because they missed earlier application opportunities.
Applicants can access the KUCCPS student portal to review available degree programmes and submit their applications online.
