Kenya Power announces planned electricity interruptions across multiple regions on Tuesday, 27th

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions set to affect several parts of the country on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, as part of routine maintenance aimed at improving service reliability.

The planned outages will impact areas across Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Nandi, Trans Nzoia, Kiambu, Kitui, and Kisumu counties, with most interruptions expected to occur between morning and late afternoon hours.


Nairobi Region

Parts of Nairobi West – Riverside Drive
Power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Arboretum Drive, UoN Chiromo Campus hostels, parts of Waiyaki Way, Riverside Drive, Westlands, and surrounding offices and residences.

Parts of Nairobi South – Imara Daima
Electricity supply will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas include Villa Franca Estate, Tsavo Gardens, Mukuru Health Centre, Kings Millennium, and nearby customers.


Kajiado County

Kitengela Area
Residents will experience outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Locations affected include Milimani areas, Thorn Grove, KUSCO, Noonkopir, Acacia, and surrounding neighbourhoods.


Machakos County

Syokimau Area
Electricity will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Areas include Katani Road, Community Road, Parliament Road, Airport Road, and nearby estates.

Kitui Road and Surrounding Markets
Outage scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected markets include Kyeni Ikulu, Miu, Katangi, Mwala, Kituneni, and others.


North Rift Region

Parts of Nandi County – Mosoriot, Kosirai
Power will be off from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas include Mosoriot, Kosirai, Belekenya, Tebeson, Itigo, Ndonyongaria, and Kapngetich.

Parts of Trans Nzoia County – Aturukan, Sirwo Resort, Mwaita
Electricity interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas include Aturukan Hotel, Mt. Elgon Dairies, Kibomet Primary, Sirwo Resort, and surrounding centres.


North Eastern Region

Parts of Kiambu County – Mugumo, Marion Schools
Outage scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas include Kenton, Mugumo ACK, Marion Schools, and nearby customers.

Parts of Kitui County – Nguni, Ukasi, Mutito, Ngomeni
Power will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas include Gypsum Factory, Nguni, Ukasi, Nuu, Endau, and surrounding regions.


Western Region

Parts of Kisumu County – Nyawara, Ogola Market
Electricity interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Affected areas include Kisian Odima, Nyawara Primary, Ongalo Market, and nearby communities.


Advisory to Customers

Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the outage period. The utility company noted that power supply may be restored earlier than scheduled once maintenance works are completed.

The interruptions are part of ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure, enhance network stability, and ensure consistent electricity supply across the country.
