Date:

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of Uasin Gishu and Bungoma counties on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, to facilitate routine maintenance and network improvement works.

The utility company said the scheduled outages are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability of electricity supply and improve service delivery to customers.

Uasin Gishu County

In the North Rift Region, customers in parts of Uasin Gishu County will experience a power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The outage will affect the Merewet area, including Teresia, Mumetet, Kapnyongi, Chepkongi and surrounding customers.

Kenya Power said the maintenance exercise will enable its technical teams to carry out essential works on the electricity network aimed at improving service stability in the area.

Bungoma County

In the Western Region, customers in parts of Bungoma County will also be affected by planned maintenance works.

The first interruption will occur in the Terem Power and Kapkateny areas from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Areas expected to be affected include Kapkateny, Terem Power, Koroyowandet, Kimalewa Market and adjacent customers.

A second maintenance exercise will affect the Lugulu and Munyikana areas from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The outage will impact customers in Munyikana, Mwalimu House, Dinah, Santa Barbra, Malaha, Sirisia, Bujosi, Webuye Jaggery, Noah Wekesa, Lugulu, Misikhu, Wananchi, Lavington and neighbouring areas.

Customers Advised to Prepare
