Kenya Power announces planned maintenance in Kericho and Kisumu counties today, June 11

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled electricity maintenance exercise that will affect customers in parts of Kericho County and Kisumu County on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

The planned maintenance is aimed at facilitating network upgrades and ensuring improved reliability of power supply in the affected areas.

North Rift Region

Areas Affected: Kimoning and Chembulet, Kericho County

  • Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Customers in the following areas will experience power interruptions during the maintenance period:

  • Kimoning
  • Kapkei
  • Sorng’etuny
  • Chembulet
  • Adjacent areas

Kenya Power has advised residents and businesses within the affected locations to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the outage.

Western Region

Area Affected: Ojola, Kisumu County

  • Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The maintenance exercise will affect electricity supply in:

  • Ojola DC
  • Ojola Market
  • Adjacent areas

Residents and traders operating within the affected locations are encouraged to plan accordingly to minimize disruptions to their activities.

Kenya Power Advisory

Kenya Power stated that the interruptions are necessary to allow technical teams to carry out essential maintenance works on the electricity distribution network. The utility company noted that power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the scheduled works.
